No parent wants to lose a child. In Searching, David Kim's daughter, Margot, doesn't return from school and stop answering his texts. Working with a detective, he searches frantically for clues. It's a classic mystery told through a modern lens: the entire film is presented through various user-interfaces. An online video, a chat window, a cell phone text message thread.

The mobile website we built for Sony Pictures invites the user into David Kim's phone to find any and all evidence of his daughter's whereabouts. We recreated several parts of the iOS 11 interface for the user to explore, digging through family photos, re-tracing text message conversations with Margot and the detective, or surveying critical locations in the maps app. Just like the film, the viewer is invited into this mystery via their own phone's interface.
